Private Tours & Day Trips

Discover London and beyond with a private chauffeur, and a journey shaped entirely around your plans.

What a private tour is

A Journey That Leaves Room For The Day

A private tour is not a transfer with sightseeing attached. It is a day arranged around where you want to be and how long you want to stay, with a chauffeur and a vehicle held for you throughout rather than booked leg by leg.

That difference shows up in the small decisions. A stop that turns out to be worth an extra half hour can have one. A village you had not planned on can be added on the way past. Lunch can run long. Nothing has to be re-booked, because the car has not gone anywhere.

The itinerary is yours. We provide the chauffeur, the vehicle and the planning around them, and the day is free to unfold at your pace.

Ways to spend the day

Three Kinds Of Touring Day

In town

London, Without The Rush

Seeing London by private car is less about covering ground than about choosing when to stop. Journeys are arranged around sightseeing, shopping, dining, galleries and museums, or a personal itinerary that mixes all of them across a single day.

The practical advantage is the one visitors notice first: bags, coats and purchases stay in the car, the next address is already known, and there is no queueing for a taxi in the rain between one stop and the next.

A day can begin at a hotel or a private address and end wherever the evening does. Where a journey suits it better, chauffeur hire by the hour can be arranged instead of a fixed route.

Countryside

The Cotswolds And The English Countryside

A countryside day trip is the journey this service was made for. The Cotswolds are the most requested — honey-coloured villages, market towns and open country, reached comfortably from London and seen properly rather than through a coach window.

The shape of the day is yours to set. Several villages or one. A long lunch or a short stop. A house or garden if you want to visit one, with admission arranged by you rather than by us.

The same applies elsewhere in the countryside. Where the destination is further than a comfortable day allows, we will say so while the plan can still be changed.

Beyond London

Beyond The City

Some days are better spent outside London altogether. Journeys can be arranged towards Windsor, Ascot, Oxford, Cambridge, Guildford, Reading, Brighton, Bath and other destinations across the country, subject to availability and the requirements of the journey.

These are still private tours rather than point-to-point transfers: the car stays with you, the stops are yours, and the return is whenever you are ready.

Where a journey is genuinely long-distance and the point is to arrive rather than to explore, it is usually better arranged as a long-distance journey instead. We will tell you which one fits.

Planning the day

When The Itinerary Is Yours

Most private tours are arranged from a short conversation rather than a form. Where you would like to go, roughly when you would like to set off, how many are travelling and whether there is luggage is usually enough to begin.

From there the practical detail is settled before the day: the collection address, the order of the stops, where the vehicle can wait at each one, and what happens if the day runs differently from the plan.

Plans change on the day, and that is expected. What we ask is that you tell your chauffeur, because the car is the part of the arrangement that has to move.

  • The vehicle and chauffeur are held for the duration of the arrangement
  • Several stops in a day, in the order you choose
  • Collection from a hotel, a private residence or an airport
  • More than one vehicle where the group or the luggage needs it
  • Hourly hire where that suits the day better than a route
  • Chauffeur driving-hours limits apply, and are confirmed when the day is planned

Questions answered plainly

Private Touring, Answered

Can I Create A Private Itinerary For The Day?

Yes, and it is how most private tours are arranged. You decide the destinations and the order; we plan the driving around them and tell you anything that will not work as drafted. There is no fixed route to choose from.

Do You Provide A Tour Guide?

No. Chauffeurs World provides the vehicle, the chauffeur and the planning around the journey. Our chauffeurs know London and the routes well and are happy to help, but they are not guides, and we do not arrange guides, tickets or admission. Where you want a guide, you are welcome to bring your own.

Can A Private Tour Include Several Stops?

Yes. Multiple stops in one day are normal for this service. Tell us the stops when the day is arranged so the order and the waiting arrangements at each one can be planned rather than improvised.

Can A Private Tour Start From My Hotel Or Residence?

Yes. Collection can be arranged from a London hotel, a private address or an airport, and the day can end at a different address from the one it started at.

Can You Arrange A Cotswolds Day Trip From London?

Yes, and it is the most requested countryside day trip we arrange. The villages and the stops are yours to choose. Any admission to a house, garden or attraction is arranged by you rather than by us.

Can A Private Tour Travel Beyond London?

Yes. Journeys can be arranged towards Windsor, Ascot, Oxford, Cambridge, Guildford, Reading, Brighton, Bath and other destinations across the UK, subject to availability and the requirements of the journey. If a destination is too far for a comfortable day, we will say so.

Which Vehicles Are Available For Private Touring?

The collection is the same one used across the rest of the service, and the appropriate vehicle depends on the number of passengers, the luggage and the nature of the day. Passenger and luggage figures are shown on the fleet pages where the vehicle model confirms them.

Can Several Vehicles Be Arranged For A Group?

Yes. Where a party or its luggage is larger than one vehicle suits, several can be arranged and planned around the same itinerary. The number available on a given date is confirmed when the arrangement is made rather than promised in advance of it.

How Long Can A Private Tour Last?

The length is set when the day is arranged. Chauffeur driving-hours limits apply, as they do on every journey we operate, so a very long day may need to be planned differently or shared between chauffeurs. That is confirmed before you travel rather than discovered on the day.

Tell Us Where You Would Like To Go

The destinations, roughly when you would like to set off and how many are travelling is enough to begin. We will come back with the arrangement and a straight answer about anything that does not work as drafted.
